Bring THIS into 2019 and Have Your Best Year!
I love the New Year. I always like watching those YouTube videos that talk about all the things we should leave in the old year (long gone are trendy words and phrases like “on fleek” and “ghosting”). It’s a brand new year, and you’ve probably chosen a few things to leave in 2018. Maybe it’s a toxic person or relationship/friendship/situationship. Maybe you’re leaving some clothes that you never want to see again. Maybe you left the whole idea of 2018 in 2018. I have definitely chosen to leave some things in 2018 that I know were sucking the life out of me. Maybe you’re leaving some behaviors that were simply holding you back from living in all of your greatness.
Today, I’m going to share with you some things we should actually BRING with us into 2019 and why we should leave some things in last year. I also posted this video if you’re into watching more than reading.
Bring consistency into 2019
Yes, it may be the buzzword of all buzzwords, but consistency is that thing that makes the world go ‘round. When you’re consistent, you’re making things happen over and over. And we all know that the more we see something, the more it sticks with us. When we dwell in inconsistency, we are really dwelling in doubt. We’re unsure of why we’re doing what we’re doing. When you have a gift, you get to share that with the world. Someone needs what you have to offer. When you stifle that by doubting your abilities and sharing a little or none of what you have to offer, you’re basically snuffing off someone else’s ability to gain their greatness from your gifts.
Bring Your Awesomeness into 2019
You know you were created by THEE Most High, right? God didn’t make any mistakes when He created you. You are 100% whole and complete. The Bible says in Psalm 139:4, “ I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” YOU were created with a purpose. It’s up to us to trust and believe that we were created that way and to walk in that purpose daily. DAILY. Not half the time, not 3 days a week. Daily. You have the ability to think, process, and create awesomeness. Why not bring that out and shine for someone else? Be you on purpose.
Bring “I can” into 2019
All this takes is shifting how you say something. Have you ever heard someone tell you that it’s not what you say, but HOW you say it? What you say as well as how you say it both will manifest in your life. The more you think you can’t, you won’t. So take what you CAN do, what you do have the ability to achieve, and work with that. Focus on what you have, and that produces gratitude. And we all know that gratefulness begets favor. When you start thinking you can, the more you think it and believe it, you will.
Bring INTENTION/COMMITMENT into 2019
We all have this thing in our possession on a daily basis, and in our lifetime of having it, we’ve misused it. The infamous alarm clock. I know I’m guilty of hitting the snooze button two too many times and ended up being late to whatever place I was supposed to be at, or been angry because inevitably, I have to get up anyway. WHYYYYYYY do we do this to ourselves?? This is NOT a great habit to have. You’re actually not doing yourself any favors by snoozing through 7, 8, or 9 minutes of sleep. It’s disruptive to your body, and can make you feel more groggy (and mad) when you actually get up for your day. Instead of snoozing, just set your alarm for the time you actually want to wake up. When your alarm goes off, GET UP. The more consistent you are with getting up at the same time every morning, the more consistent your body will be when it’s time for you to get to bed at night. Welcome to the beginning of your personal routine.
